We are a family in the Golden/Lakewood area seeking LPNs or RNs to care for our seven-year-old daughter for daytime shifts so that she can go to school. We will be losing Emma's current wonderful nurse on April 1st. Emma’s current nurse works 7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Thursday, but we are flexible and open to different schedules (8:00-4:30 Mon-Fri, 9:00 – 4:30, three 7:00 to 7:00 shifts, etc.).
Emma breathes through a tracheostomy tube and is g-tube dependent and nonambulatory. During the day, she wears an HME -- she does not utilize a ventilator. Emma LOVES going to school (Fletcher Miller), riding the bus, and riding her tricycle. She is a smiley, happy kid almost all the time. She has only missed a couple of days of school due to illness this year. Daytime tasks include two g-tube feeds, a few medications, and trach suctioning. Emma uses a communication device and has a great sense of humor.
Although trach/g-tube experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidate.
Our nursing agency is MGA but we are open to switching to a different agency for the right candidate.
Please contact Sarah to learn more about this opportunity.
