The F.A.C.E.S. Project Overview
Project Snapshot The F.A.C.E.S. Project: (Families Advocating for Care, Education & Support) is a free, video-based resource designed to introduce nursing students to pediatric home health through the powerful stories of real families and nurses. Created by Hello Nurze in response to the startling fact that only 17% of nurses report learning about medically complex pediatric home health during their training this initiative aims to change that.
The F.A.C.E.S. Project - Reviewer Guide
As you review the video, we’d especially love your thoughts on:
- Video-specific feedback: Are there edits or additions that would make the content more impactful or clear for students?
- Curriculum support: What types of supporting materials (discussion guides, reflection prompts, case studies, etc.) would make it easier for faculty to integrate this into their coursework?
We’re currently preparing for a Fall 2025 beta launch with a small group of nursing programs in Illinois and Colorado, and your feedback will help ensure we deliver a resource that’s both meaningful and easy to use.
Looking Ahead: Expanding Family and Nurse Stories We’ve applied for additional grant funding that, if awarded, will allow us to expand the F.A.C.E.S. Project with a second round of video shoots. Our goal is to feature a broader and more diverse set of stories, including:
- Families of different racial and ethnic backgrounds
- Youth and young adults with long-term and evolving care needs
- A range of nurse roles and perspectives (LPN, RN, CNA)
If you know a medically complex family or home health nurse whose story you think should be featured, we’d love to hear from you.
Help Us Connect with Nursing Schools As we prepare for the beta launch, we’re also looking to build new connections with nursing programs—particularly in Illinois and Colorado (our beta geos). If you have any recommendations, introductions, or contacts at nursing schools who might be open to piloting this resource, we’d be thrilled to follow up. Even just keeping Hello Nurze and the F.A.C.E.S. Project in mind during your future conversations would be such a gift!
2025–2026 Goals: In 2025, we’re launching a beta version of the F.A.C.E.S. Project with 4–6 nursing programs across Illinois and Colorado. Through this pilot, our goals are to:
- Increase student awareness of the medically complex pediatric population by 50%
- Boost interest in pediatric home health as a career path by at least 25%
Looking ahead to 2026, we plan to use beta feedback to optimize the program for a nationwide rollout, expanding access to nursing schools across the U.S. and introducing even more students to the field—and rewards—of pediatric home health nursing. Thank you again for helping bring this project to life. We truly couldn’t do this without you—and we’re so excited to share what’s next.
