It Trachs a Village

A rally call for complex medical families everywhere

The Knight family founded Hello Nurze in early 2023—the same year their daughter was scheduled for decannulation. To mark this milestone, they designed shirts featuring “It Trachs a Village,” sending them to friends and family across the country who had rallied around their daughter, Olivia, throughout her journey. The shirts were both a celebration of her progress and a tribute to every person who helped along the way.

Because it truly does take a village to support children with medical complexity, “It Trachs a Village” has since become Hello Nurze’s rally cry for families and medical teams everywhere. The phrase is often featured in Project Celebrate, a special Hello Nurze initiative created to bring moments of joy and recognition to inpatient families navigating their own trach journeys. Past Project Celebrate activations have included Trach Awareness Week (May) and Trach or Treat (October).
