Let’s bring grandpa home! ❤️‍🩹

Grandpa has a trach and a peg tube. He cannot come home because our family is just a family of 3, being his wife, 82, my mom, and I. We are a small village but even with the help of one nurse, we could bring him home. We are open to any availability and hours for help. We can partner you with an agency so that you can receive benefits or bill Medicaid. In March of 2026, grandpa discovered he had stage 4 cancer of the mouth. He chose to live and underwent a radical lymph node mastectomy at 92 years old. Prior to this surgery he was still independent, walking, taking the bus, doing errands, you name it. The trach and feeding tube were only supposed to be temporary but when they tried decanulating him, he was unable to breath on his own. Grandpa’s 2 biggest goals were 1) to live no matter what that looked like and 2) to return to home no matter how long or arduous the journey would be. Grandpa is loved very much. We all take turns visiting for several hours a day and learning as much as we can to be able to help him. He doesn’t want to be at that facility anymore. He wants to be home with his family!! His wife misses him dearly, we all miss him and he’s such a sweetheart and has always been so deserving. So to see him not be back home and suffering away from his home is heartbreaking to all of us including himself.
